Earlier this week was a big one for Team Larry’s, Jamie packed up his apron and headed to Tunstead Primary School for an extra-curricular cooking class with a brilliant bunch of budding chefs.
From the moment the flour hit the tables, the energy was awesome. Pupils learned how to knead their own dough, shape their bases, and then get creative with toppings, think colourful veggies, classic pepperoni, and a few brave combos that would make Nonna raise an eyebrow (in a good way).
What the kids cooked up
Dough basics
Mixing, resting, and kneading for that perfect chew
Sauce & cheese know-how
How to balance flavour without overloading
Toppings & textures
Experimenting with sweet, salty, and spicy (pineapple fans, you were out in force)
Teamwork
Sharing ingredients, timing bakes, and cheering each other on
Jamie had a blast – huge thanks to Tunstead Primary for making him feel so welcome on his first school outing since he was in school himself… just a couple of years ago, wasn’t it?

Why we love doing this
At Larry’s, “Pizza Your Way” isn’t just a menu idea, it’s how we think about food and community. Teaching kids the basics of fresh dough and balanced toppings shows that great pizza can be fun, hands-on, and affordable. Plus, nothing beats the look on a young chef’s face when their creation comes bubbling out of the oven.
Fancy a class or visit?
If you’re a local school, club, or community group around Hoveton & Wroxham, we’d love to chat about workshops or demos. Drop us a message and let’s cook up something awesome together.
